If it had the option to set locked scrolling to scroll by pages, and free scrolling to scroll by single lines, then I might use the option more. There's no button under there, so the mouse doesn't know whether it's being used in free/locked scrolling mode. But it just acts like a normal mouse wheel that scrolls by "lines" so I don't find it useful at all.Īdditionally, the toggle between free/locked scrolling is purely a mechanical function of the mouse. If it acted like a touchscreen where you have high resolution and direct control over scrolling, it would be really good. I rarely ever use the free-scrolling feature. If they make an ergonomic mouse with similar features, I'll be switching right away though. The G900 is the first Logitech mouse where I haven't had that issue. It's generally worse the smaller a mouse is too. With other Logitech mice - even ergonomic mice like the G602 - I often get pain in my index finger at the knuckle after using them all day. The pre-tensioned switches really made a big difference for me. It took a bit of time to adjust, but the G900 is the first ambidextrous mouse that I haven't found to cause me pain from prolonged use.
(love DeathAdders despite the sensor choices that Razer make) That mirrors my own thoughts about wired vs wireless - though I went with the G900 rather than the G403 despite my preference for ergonomic mice. Although the G403 wireless is 106g, it almost feels lighter than the G Pro's 87g because of the lack f cable drag.įor the prices you can get either for right now (G900 for $100 and G403 for $70, both amazon) its a no brainer.
I cant stress enough how nice it is to be free of cable drag. The big thing I miss is the infinite scroll. I almost want to grab a G900 now too! Haha. The wireless tech in this is insane, I was doing amazingly in BF1 with it. Also the sides on the wired were all scratched and the scroll wheel rattled.I think I got a used mouse from BB. The clicks on this wireless one are so yummy, the wired didnt feel like this. I had tried a wired G403 briefly a ways back and returned it, and now I think that one was defective. While the G900 feels higher quality, with insanely nice clicks and the awesome free scroll wheel my G502 has, I thought i need an ergo shape so I went for a G403 same day from Amazon.
I just tried out a G Pro and I'm not feeling it, feels too small and I don't really like the ambi shape. That the Logitechs actually allow for customizations that save on the mice themselves should you want it doesn't take away from them at all.Īgonized over trying the G403 or the G900 as my next mouse. Plug in and play is also present in other mice like all modern Logitechs. Zowie are good enough for sure, but that doesn't fit your premise for people "serious into FPS". G403, G703, G Pro, G203, and G102 from JUST Logitech all shit on them and are price-competitive. Zowie mice are behind the curve in terms of top tier sensors in 2017. 240hz monitors haven't even become common place among their possessions despite being clearly the best for their uses right now. That didn't make automatically make it the "best" FPS mouse. The former had click delay that wasn't fixed until a later revision and pros were still using it back then. Most mice are "good enough", so it doesn't make that much of a difference whether you use a Zowie FK1 or a G Pro but the latter's sensor is objectively far superior. The expertise of most on tech-related matters are limited. Even when we're not talking about sponsored gear, pros just use what they feel is best and are comfortable with inside the small arbitrary selection size of mice they've tried, or they'll prefer a specific shape that's simply a subjective whim. Sorry, but this is a bad line of reasoning to use to justify mouse choice. Pros don't know shit about the best hardware.
